The 15th annual Surfalorus Film Festival runs August 7 through 9, 2026, across Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington, presented by the Cucalorus Film Foundation. The festival opens Friday, August 7, at 8:00 PM at Surf City Surf Shop in Wrightsville Beach with Wahine Shorts, a program including High Tide Low Tide, Breaking Softly, Aloha, The Sea and She, WHOMP, and Fishery Bay: A Community Rising. Saturday, August 8, at 8:00 PM the festival moves to Jengo's Playhouse for Jack Johnson: SURFILMUSIC alongside Rán: A Scandinavian Surfing Saga, and closes there Sunday, August 9, at 5:00 PM with Kingdom of the Evening and Fun Island. This year Surfalorus partners with the Wrightsville Beach Wahine Classic, one of the East Coast's premier all-female surfing competitions, for a combined weekend of surf culture. Individual tickets are $10 and a full festival pass covering all three days is $15.
