The Wrightsville Beach Wahine Classic returns August 8 and 9, 2026, near the Stone Street beach access on the north end of Wrightsville Beach. One of the East Coast's premier all-female surf competitions, the Wahine Classic features surfers across every age and level, from Teenie Wahine heats for surfers 10 and under through junior and open shortboard and longboard, pro divisions, tandem surfing, and Mamas & Mermaids for surfers 25 and up. This year the Classic pairs with the Surfalorus Film Festival, which opens its surf-film weekend Friday night at Surf City Surf Shop with an all-wahine shorts program.
