Wilmington's longest-operating brewery, opened in 1995 and the 7th craft brewery in the state of NC. Lives in an 1865 downtown building that survived the Civil War, a 1922 fire, and stints as a music showroom and men's clothing store before becoming a brewery. Ten-plus house craft beers on tap plus brewery-style pub food: gourmet burgers and sandwiches, seafood, the famous Scottish Ale Beef Stew, fried green tomato BLT. Also claims the largest bourbon and whiskey selection in NC, which is not nothing. Outdoor patio works for drinks and apps when the weather cooperates.
