The USS North Carolina (BB-55) is the most decorated American battleship of World War II. Moored across the Cape Fear River from downtown, visitors can explore all nine levels including crew quarters, the bridge, gun turrets, and engine rooms. At 728 feet long and as tall as a 15-story building, plan at least 2 hours to explore. Open daily 8am-5pm (noon on Christmas). Credit card only. Adults $14, seniors 65+ $10, military $10, children 6-11 $6, under 5 free. The memorial walkway is free and accessible.
