Born, raised, and based in Atlanta, Huey's songwriting is rooted in southern folk music. After eight years playing in various groups, most notably her own full band Huey & The Heaven-sent, her heart-clenching, poignant lyrics married with folk and sometimes jazz melodies have carved out a side of the folk genre that sounds like nobody else.
