The Word Made Alive! A Weekend of Sacred Storytelling Part 1 “A Tale from the Time of Martyrs” Ad Catacumbus, The Praetorian of Christ

Three Wilmington Presbyterian congregations are joining together to host an extraordinary weekend of sacred storytelling with international performers Davide Bardi and Paola Balbi. Through a dramatic retelling, with conversation and reflection to follow, we’ll explore the legend of Saint Sebastian in Part 1 of the three-part storytelling experience.Friday's story is a gripping, historically grounded retelling of the life of Saint Sebastian, Roman soldier turned Christian martyr. Two performers embody multiple characters, bringing imperial Rome’s danger, corruption, and spiritual upheaval to life. Commissioned for the 2025 Jubilee, the piece blends research, drama, and immersive storytelling. The Q&A session will occur after the performance.
