Barefoot Walk Mothers’ Call for Peace onSunday, March 22 , 2:00 pm on Oak Island, NCPart of an International Event – See Global Map Here On Sunday, March 22 at 2:00 pm, there will be a Barefoot Walk Mothers’ Call for Peace, sponsored by Women Wage Peace. The Walk starts at 100 SE 72nd St., Oak Island, NC and finishes at the Oak Island Pier, 705 Ocean Dr, Oak Island, NC 28465. The event is scheduled in conjunction with the Barefoot Walk Mothers’ Call for Peace happening in Rome, Italy on March 24. The Barefoot Walk for Peace Mothers’ Call for Peace will see mothers walking barefoot side by side to honor every child lost to violence and to advocate that peace is the only security. Presented by Women Wage Peace, Women of the Sun and Vital Voices, The Barefoot Walk is a global action supporting the Mothers’ Call for Peace. Here’s a map of other Walks going on all over the world.The Mothers' Call is a historic partnership between Israeli (WWP) and Palestinian women (Women of the Sun) who have chosen to stop being enemies and instead stand together as mothers, united by the heart-led conviction that every child deserves a future of peace, security, and cooperation. On Sunday, March 22, we’re bringing that global call for humanity right here to our community with the Barefoot Walk Mothers’ Call for Peace – Oak Island, NC. There are similar walks happening in New York, California, Texas and Colorado. Participants meet at 100 SE 72nd St. in Oak Island at 2:00 pm, and will walk on the beach (bare feet are optional!), finishing at the Oak Island Pier.
