Walk in the footsteps of history as we honor the women who processed and burned tea in protest more than 250 years ago in Downtown Wilmington. As recorded in Janet Shaw’s A Journal of a Lady of Quality, “The ladies have burnt their tea in solemn procession.” Join the members of the Wilmington Ladies Tea Walk Chapter, dressed in authentic period attire, as they reenact this historic 1775 event - processing down Market Street to the riverfront and ceremonially emptying tea caddies into a burn barrel. Tea, cookies, and presentations from several notable speakers will accompany this special moment of remembrance. If you’d like to be part of this tribute, please RSVP by March 15.
